Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a broad range of strategies aimed at teaching important social and learning outcomes, while preventing problem behaviors. PBIS is for ALL students and is applied school wide. PBIS defines, teaches, and supports appropriate student behavior to create positive school environments. Students are taught specific behavior skills and receive informative and positive feedback and reinforcement. When children are in a positive, proactive, preventative, and consistent environment, they have better grades, better behavior, higher self-esteem, better school attendance, greater motivation, and more success in life.
